Local gun shop owner promotes them for home defense. He says you should only get one in a 410.

I have a freind that got one. His 1st shot hit him in the face with the recoil barrel lift. He put it down and never shot it agian. He named it the Mule.

People take out their teeth with those things.

I'm sticking with my stock.

They look really cool that way. :)

Maybe you could mount it in a glass cabinet and put up a sign that reads, "In case of zombies break the glass."

The only person I know who could control one is a Jewish friend of mine, and he's HUGE! I'd give him even odds against Goliath in a wrestling match. I've shot his before, I hit my target but couldn't keep my hand on the forend through the recoil. A vertical grip on the forend might help.

All that aside, Mossberg makes a good shotgun. Whether you can use it in this configuration or switch it to something more practical for you it's still a good deal.

I've got one, try a oo buck in magnum, hold on tight. actually just the sound of racking it and the looks usually sends even the toughest hombre in the other direction, so it does have some redeaming qualities, found a guy in my business yard one night stealing, had one with me, racked it and told him to freeze,he turned around looked at me took off running, I fired one shot low, not trying to hit him, never seen a white boy jump a 6' fence in one leap, who ever said white boys can't jump.

About shooting low... I used to know some idiots in a crummy neighborhood I lived in. They weren't my friends, I just knew them. Anyway, the one guy tells me this particular evening that he has to go to court the next day as a witness, so I ask him what happened. He tells me that a friend of his and himself got into an argument with some other idiot, who pulled a .45 and shot into the ground in front of his friend to make a point. Well, the bullets all bounced up and tore into his friend's legs and pelvic region.

I don't go for warning shots, displays of force or ominous slide racking. If I pull a gun it's because somebody is about to get shot. I only pull a gun if somebody needs to get shot. If they don't need to get shot then no gun. This is why I like to have other weapons for escalation of force, such as pepper spray and an Asp baton. With a shotgun you have the option of a rubber slug or shot load.

Thanks for all the info, can I put any stock on it?
My friend put that on....
I'm inexperienced, stayed up late last night to find out area's to take it and practice, got to stop staying up until 3!!!!!

Actually there is a gun shop up the road, I'm going to go there in a bit. so I'll ask them and change it.
I think in NJ they are illegal!!!

Yup, you should have no trouble putting a different stock on it. As I recall there's just one bolt.

Also, you said you "fired low". You may not be aware of this, but a common techique is to bounce buckshot off of pavement in order to hit your target. If the surface was hard enough, you certainly could have ricocheted buckshot into the varmint. I don't know about the laws where you live, but in Texas the laws allow the people to shot anyone one "reasonably" believes is stealing one's property at night, including in the back (arsonists are in season 24 hours a day). If I were you I would become well versed in what the limits on the judicious use of deadly force in your jurisdiction are. It would appear to me that you're unaware if you're firing 'warning' shots "low" at varmints.

Sukhoi I understand where you are coming from, this happened in Reno,NV and at that time we had an outstanding district attorney Mills Lane you may have seen him refereeing major boxing events, also had his own tv court show, was within my rights, as a matter of fact one of the police officers at the scene was kind enough to instruct me in how to do it right the next time, I knew the individual involved and apparently he left town and was never seen from again. Needless to say I would not recommend to anyone to do the same.
